The company Nothing was founded in 2020 and announced in 2021 by former OnePlus founder Carl Pei. The goal of the new company was to remove barriers between people and technology to create a sleepless digital future. Nothing started cooperation with Qualcomm, which allowed them to use Snapdragon chips in their devices.
July 2022, Nothing released their first mobile phone named Nothing Phone (1). The phone has a transparent design which allows the user to see the internal components through the back of the phone. Nothing uses its own operating system Nothing OS, which is based on the Android operating system.
